The PhD admission process for physics at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Hyderabad, has begun, offering full-time and part-time opportunities. Candidates are eligible to apply for the positions if they have a minimum grade of 60% in MSc Physics or any branch of BE, BTech. A written exam and an interview will be the requirements for admission to BITS.
The entrance exam will not be taken by candidates who have passed the ME, M.Tech, MPhil, NET, or GATE exams.
The application deadline for PhD positions is November 18. The institute will send separate notifications to candidates who have been shortlisted for interviews and written tests. To submit an application, students must visit the official website at bitsadmission.com/bitsphweb/index.aspx.
General relativity, black holes, astrophysicists, quantum optics, biomaterials, biophysics, high energy physics, and modelling quantum devices are just a few of the areas of research for which the Institute is seeking candidates in its notification.
Students who are accepted into the course will be considered for a project or research assistantship with a monthly salary of up to Rs.31000 in the first year and more in subsequent years. Under mentorship, selected candidates will also be required to participate in Institute teaching and other development activities.
