Government of Assam, Office of the Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam invites online applications from the Citizens of India as defined in Article 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India and qualified in Assam TET conducted by Elementary Education Department, Assam, for filling up of 2900 vacancies of Assistant Teacher of LP Schools and 1600 of Assistant Teacher, Science Teacher and Hindi Teacher of UP Schools under the Directorate of Elementary Education, Assam of UP Schools under the Directorate of Elementary Education, Assam.

DEE Assam Recruitment Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
Assistant Teacher for Lower Primary School:
- Assam TET or Central TET for Lower Primary.
- Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
- Non-Essential: NCC Certificate, Sports & Cultural Achievements.
- 02 years Diploma in Elementary Education.
Assistant Teacher for Upper Primary School:
- Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary School.
- 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education.
- Non-Essential: NCC Certificate, Sports & Cultural Achievements.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent).
Assam Assistant Teacher Salary:
Pay Band – 2 (PB-2) @ ₹ 14,000/- to ₹ 70,000/- plus Grade Pay other allowances as admissible as per “The Assam Service (Revision of Pay) (Amendment) Rules, 2019”.
Assam Assistant Teacher Age Limit:
- 18 to 43 years for OBC / MOBC
- 18 to 40 years
- 18 to 45 years for SC / ST (P) / ST (H)
- 50 years for PWD
- 18 to 42 years for Ex-Servicemen.
Other Eligibility:
- The candidates who have passed the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) conducted by the Elementary Education Department, Assam will be eligible for applying and candidates who will appear and pass Assam TET.
- The Language-I of the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) of the candidate shall match the medium of instruction of the school, wherein the candidate wishes to apply

Assam Assistant Teacher Selection Process:
The Selection of the candidates shall be strictly in order of merit list and marks will be allocated as follows:-
- HSSLC or its equivalent – 100 Marks
- Assam TET for UPS – 100 Marks
- Graduation (If required) – 100 Marks
- Profession Qualification (DElEd or BEd etc.) – 100 Marks
- NCC – 10 Marks
- Certificate in Recognized Sport representing Assam officially at National Level – 10 Marks
- Achievements in Fine Arts and Cultural Activities representing the State officially at National Level – 10 Marks
How to Apply Assam Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2025:
- Eligible candidates should apply online through DEE Assam Official website (dee.assam.gov.in) from 15th February 2025 to 31st March 2025 up to 5:00 PM.
- The candidates should upload scanned colour copy of Passport Size Photograph, Signature, HSLC Admit Card, HSSLC Mark-sheet and Certificate, Any other Mark-sheet and Certificate of higher education, Caste Certificate etc. in Pdf format.
