CMERI Advertisement No. 02/2025 announces the recruitment of 16 Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) positions. The CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CMERI) located in Durgapur, West Bengal, is seeking applications from motivated and qualified individuals for the roles of Junior Secretariat Assistant in General, Finance & Accounts, and Stores & Purchase departments. CMERI JSA Educational Qualifications:
- Matriculation with 12th Class (10+2 / XII) Pass or its equivalent qualification.
- Proficiency in computer type speed @ 35 w.p.m. in English or @ 30 w.p.m. in Hindi and in using computer as per the prescribed norms fixed by DOPT/CSIR from time to time.
CMERI JSA Age Limit:
- The Upper Age Relaxation – 05 years for SC / ST, 03 years for OBC, for others – As per GoI rules.
- Minimum 18 years and Maximum 28 years.
CMERI JSA Monthly Salary (Pay Scale):
- Rs.36,000/- per month (Pay Level-2, Cell-1)

CMERI JSA Selection Process:
The CMERI JSA recruitment selection on the basis of following methods:
- Proficiency Test (Computer Typing Test)
- Competitive Written Examination (Paper-I and Paper-II)
CMERI JSA Application Fee:
- The fee should be made through Online Payment Mode (NET Banking/ Debit Card/Credit Card, etc.)
- Rs.500/- for General / OBC Category Candidates.
- No fee for SC / ST / PwBD / Women / Ex-servicemen / CSIR Employee Candidates.
